On June 24, 2026, at approximately 3:29 PM, Fort St. John RCMP were called to a multiple vehicle collision at the intersection of 100th Street and Alaska Highway (Hwy 97)…

Fort St. John RCMP members from multiple units responded in addition to the BC Conservation Officer Service assisting with traffic control. BC Emergency Health Services and the Fort St. John Fire Department attended and provided treatment and transport of occupants who had been injured. 

The Alaska Highway was shut down for the majority of the day while the RCMP Integrated Collision Analysis Reconstruction Service completed a full analysis of the scene.

Through the investigation it was determined that a dump truck collided with three vehicles in the intersection resulting in injuries to five occupants, some of which were critical. 

“Currently multiple additional investigative steps are being conducted to determine the cause of the collision,” said Constable Christiaan Dreyer, Media Relations Officer with the Fort St. John RCMP.

Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone with dash-camera footage to contact the detachment at 250-787-8100.
