Just to inform students and guardians that DP Todd Secondary in Prince George is OPEN today, Thursday, October 8, 2026, following a threat on Wednesday. Details from RCMP have not been fully released but below is what was said at the time of the incident. PJXM has also posted the Open details from School District 57 on this matter, it is below the RCMP information.

The Prince George RCMP is currently at DP Todd Secondary School on 444 Hill Avenue in relation to a bomb threat received at the school around 1:00 p.m. today, October 7, 2026.

β€œWe take all threats to public safety very seriously, especially when they involve one of our schools. Out of an abundance of caution, staff and students at the school have been evacuated from the building while police officers conduct their investigation. We are asking that the public stays out of the area so that first responders can conduct their work safely,” states Corporal Jennifer Cooper, BCRCMP Spokesperson for Northern B.C.

This investigation is still in the beginning stages with many details yet to be determined. Further updates may be provided as they become available.

Message from School District 57: DP Todd Secondary was evacuated on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 due to a threat deemed by the RCMP to the school community. The RCMP have assessed the school and determined it is safe to return to school on Thursday, October 8, 2026, but it will remain closed on for the remainder of Wednesday October 7, 2026.

As incidents like these may raise anxiety for some of the students and school community, there will be school and district support on site for students who need it on Thursday.Β  Please contact the school if you have any questions or concerns.
