PRINCE GEORGE

Thursday, June 25, 2026

The City of Prince George is gearing up for a fun-filled Canada Day in the Park presented by Canadian Tire. The annual event takes place at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park (LTMP) on July 1 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

New this year is an improved layout based on feedback from the community. The food pavilion will now be located along the Heritage River Trail and the kids zone is adjacent to the playground in an effort to improve the overall Canada Day experience.

Entertainment

Entertainment begins at 11 a.m. with the Prince George Community Band, followed by official opening ceremonies at noon with Lheidli T’enneh First Nation Elder Darlene McIntosh and Chief Dolleen Logan. Music, dancers, and performances will continue at the bandshell until 6 p.m. A full lineup is available on the City website.

Transportation

For the second year, the City encourages residents to use the free accessible shuttle to the park to reduce parking congestion around the park. The shuttle runs every half hour between the Civic Centre parking lot and Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park at 17th Ave and Taylor Drive between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Parking at City Hall and the lot next to the Civic Centre is free all day.

Downtown Prince George is also offering a free bike valet for event attendees. The valet allows residents to securely park their bicycle while enjoying the festivities. Look for the red Downtown Prince George tent behind the bandshell to check in.
