PRINCE GEORGE, BC: Police are asking for the public’s help following a fire that destroyed the concession building at Spruce City Stadium Wednesday morning…

Police say on August 3, 2022, shortly after 5:00 AM, officers received a report of a fire at Spruce City Stadium, located at 2210 Massey Drive.

Officers attended the location and spoke with City Parks employees, who stated the concession was last attended by City staff around 4:00 PM on August 2.

“We are currently investigating this incident as an act of arson. Additionally, it appears as though the suspect or suspects stole two large Bluetooth speakers that were stored inside the concession. We are appealing to the public to come forward if they have any knowledge of who may have stolen the speakers or started the fire. They can speak with an investigator by calling the non-emergency line at 250-561-3300,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

Officers were joined at the stadium by a Prince George RCMP Fire Investigator and the Forensic Identification Section to collect evidence and obtain photographs.

The investigation is ongoing.

If you have any information about this or any other criminal offence, please contact the Prince George RCMP at (250)561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
