UPDATE: Emergency crews have reopened traffic on Ospika Boulevard following this morning’s accident between Range Road and Davis Road.
Investigators have determined that the vehicle heading northbound on Ospika Boulevard lost control coming out of a bend in the road and crossed the centre meridian, entering into southbound traffic where they collided with an oncoming vehicle.
Emergency crews transported both drivers to the University Hospital of Northern B.C. The driver of the first vehicle has since been air lifted to Vancouver General Hospital for further treatment. The driver of the second vehicle received treatment and was released from hospital this afternoon.
Emergency crews are on scene at a two-vehicle traffic incident at Ospika Boulevard and Range Road. Police have shut down traffic on Ospika Boulevard between Davis Road and Range Road.
The Prince George RCMP is asking people to please use alternative routes at this time and to avoid the area so emergency crews have space to work.
Traffic will be closed in this area for the next few hours. Police will provide updates when they are available. Please plan your routes accordingly.
