PRINCE GEORGE, BC: Search crews have recovered the body of a man who was kayaking on Davie Lake Saturday afternoon…
Frontline officers and other emergency services were called to the lake at approximately 3:30 PM on Saturday after receiving a report that an adult male went missing after the kayak he was on turned over.
Emergency Management BC was contacted and deployed the Prince George Search & Rescue Society to assist. The surface area and the shoreline of the lake was searched by boat and helicopter prior to underwater efforts.
Foul play is not suspected and the man was not wearing a life jacket.
Davie Lake is a popular site for many outdoor enthusiasts and is located a few minutes north of the Bear Lake community, along Hwy 97.
The BC Coroners Service has taken over the investigation.
