Updated…Bus driver and RCMP officer assaulted…

UPDATE: On Wednesday afternoon, the BC Prosecution Service charged 30 year-old Geoffrey David LAMB of Prince George with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Assault police officer
  • Resist arrest
  • Uttering threats
  • Cause disturbance
  • The BC Prosecution Service also charged 29 year-old Marsha Michelle LEWIS of Prince George with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Assault
  • Cause disturbance
  • Both appeared in Provincial Court Wednesday afternoon and were released until their next court date, scheduled for February 26, 2020.

    The incident began on a transit bus when two riders were asked to get off the bus due to harassment on fellow passengers. The two, an intoxicated man and woman, refused to get off and assaulted the bus driver. The bus driver called for assistance and the bus was cleared of remaining passengers.

    The man and woman began walking away from the situation when police arrived on scene. An officer attempted to arrest the male suspect but he resisted and resulted to assault the officer. A second officer arrived on scene and managed to help the injured officer with an effective arrest. The female also resisted arrest, but was swiftly taken into custody.

    The injured officer attended hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

    A 30 year-old male and 29 year-old female were held overnight and will appear in court.

    Police continue to investigate.
