PRINCE GEORGE, BC: An Alberta man is behind bars following a series of events involving a stolen truck early Wednesday morning…
Police say the incident began on Quince Street just after 3 AM, when an officer attempted to pull over a truck commonly stolen in Prince George.
The driver of the vehicle, a white Ford F350, failed to stop and fled at a high-rate of speed. In the interest of public safety, the officer did not pursue.
Then just before 4 AM, the same Ford pickup was driving on Ospika Blvd near Forest Ave. The driver was demonstrating erratic driving behaviour and was putting police and the public in danger. The suspect was caught driving down the wrong part of the roadway into oncoming traffic and was swerving directly towards marked police vehicles in order to flee from police.
The vehicle was seen several more times throughout the core of the city before being located one final time…
At approximately 4:40 AM, the Ford was located unoccupied in an alley between Victoria Street and Quince Street.
A 31 year-old male suspect from Edmonton was located less than a block from the vehicle and was arrested. The Ford F350 was confirmed by investigators to have been stolen at some point during the night.
The suspect remains in custody and investigation is continuing.
