On December 30, 2025 just after 6:00 PM, the Fort St. John RCMP received a report of an unknown man holding a handgun attempting to gain access to a home in the area of Peace River Road and 111th Avenue…
Officers responded and set up containment in the area. Callouts to the suspect resulted in the man surrendering to police and taken into custody without incident. A loaded firearm was seized at the scene but had not been discharged. A single victim inside the home was physically assaulted. Two additional people were arrested on scene in relation to the incident.
The suspect male remains in police custody for court and will likely face numerous charges in relation to firearms and assault. The two additional individuals located at the scene are being held while the investigation continues into the matter.
“This incident was an isolated targeted incident where both the suspect and the victim are known to police,” said Sergeant Dwayne Croll, Non-Commissioned Officer in charge of Operational Support. “Charges have not yet been approved so no names are being released at this time.”
