Police are sending out a safe driving reminder following a fatal crash on April 27…

Officers responded to a report of a single vehicle crash near Salmon Valley just before midnight on Thursday. Upon arrival, responding officers found the sole occupant of the vehicle deceased.

Investigation determined that speed and alcohol were likely contributors in the crash. Highway 97 was closed for several hours during the overnight on April 28.

“With the summer weather finally arriving, and ahead of the May long weekend coming up, Prince George RCMP is reminding motorists to make safe and responsible choices while driving. This means keeping your speed within the posted speed limit, staying sober while driving, and being courteous to other road users,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
