FORT ST. JOHN, BC: A Fort St. John area man is facing charges following a Break and Enter last week…
Police say on February 7, 2023, officers received a report of a residential break and enter in the Charlie Lake area. Stolen items included a pistol, two shotguns and a rifle, along with a video gaming system.
During the investigation, officers received information that the items could be at a Fort St. John residence on the 9200 block of 93rd Ave. Police obtained a search warrant for the residence.
On February 8, 2023, frontline officers and the Fort St. John Drug Unit located and arrested the property owner of the residence.
The search warrant was subsequently executed on the residence with two shotguns and the video gaming console being recovered by police. Police also seized a significant amount of a what is believed to be illicit drugs.
As a result of the investigation, Christopher Daryl MUNCH was arrested and is currently facing charges of:

- Break and Enter to Steal a Firearm,
- Break and Enter to Commit Theft,
- Careless Use of a Firearm,
- Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition,
- Possession Contrary to Order,
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime,
- Breach of Probation Order.
At the time of the arrest, MUNCH was prohibited from possessing any firearms and was held for court where he was remanded into custody until February 13, 2023, and again until February 15, 2023.
“Two firearms have been recovered which is a testimony to the seriousness the RCMP gives to firearms related offences,” said Constable Chad Neustaeter, Media Relations Officer for the Fort St John RCMP. “With two more outstanding firearms, our officers will continue to work on this.”
The investigation is ongoing.
