$500,000 worth of damage done to two bulldozers…

VANDERHOOF, BC: On Wednesday, May 19, 2021, Vanderhoof RCMP responded to a report of attempted theft of two D8 bulldozers on the Barlow Lake FSR.

Upon attendance, RCMP noted it appeared that someone had gone off-roading and had got their vehicle stuck in the mud in the rural area.

The individual(s) then hotwired a nearby D8 bulldozer in an attempt to pull their vehicle out of the mud. The bulldozer also became stuck in the mud, at which point the individual(s) hotwired a second D8 bulldozer, pulled their vehicle out of the mud and departed the area.

The damage caused to the bulldozers was estimated to be approximately $500,000 and the matter is still under investigation.
