Water service maintenance on 1st Avenue near Queensway starts April 26…
PRINCE GEORGE, BC: The City of Prince George will begin a maintenance operation on the water system on 1st Avenue starting on Monday, April 26. This operation is intended to replace specific hydrants along 1st Avenue to ensure the hydrants perform as necessary.
The project could result in temporary traffic delays in the area of 1st Avenue near the intersections of Kingston Street, Queensway, Ottawa Street, Ontario Street, and Lower Patricia Boulevard. Businesses adjacent to these operations could experience temporary water disruptions as repairs are performed in their area.
Construction will occur from 6:00am to 7:00pm from April 26 to May 5. Most disruptions to water service are expected to occur during the first half of next week (April 26 to 28).
The operation will require some excavation at each site, and each site will be repaved at the end of the project.

On Friday, City crews used a vactor truck to confirm the water level under the ground is low enough to allow next week’s water service maintenance operation to proceed. – City of Prince George
The public is asked to follow all instructions from traffic control workers and signs to ensure the safety of pedestrian and vehicle traffic, as well as the construction crews.
