Police investigating homicide on Carney Street…

PRINCE GEORGE, BC: The Prince George RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit is currently investigating their fourth homicide of 2021…

Police say shortly after 3:30 AM on April 22, 2021, the Prince George RCMP received notification from staff at the hospital that an adult male was in the emergency room with traumatic injuries.

The male did not survive and the Serious Crime Unit is currently investigating this as a homicide.

“Preliminary information indicates that prior to arrival at the hospital, the male was associated to a residence on the 900 block of Carney Street. Police are familiar with this residence as it was the subject of a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant executed by the Street Crew Unit in March of this year. As such, investigators believe this was a targeted attack and there is currently no risk to the public,” states Cst. Jennifer Cooper of the Prince George RCMP.

The Serious Crime Unit would like to speak with anyone with a dash cam who was driving in the area of 10th Avenue and Carney Street the night of April 22 between 3:00 AM and 6:00 AM.

If you have any information that can aid in this investigation, please call 250-561-3300 to speak with police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

If you have any information about this or any other criminal offence, please contact the Prince George RCMP at (250)561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1(800)222-8477
