PRINCE GEORGE, BC: A suspect has been arrested in a violent assault that occurred on a City transit bus on Tuesday…

Police say at approximately 6:00 PM on March 9, 2021, the Prince George RCMP received an emergency call from a passenger on a City bus who stated they just witnessed a male stab another passenger in the leg.

Frontline members and Police Dog Services responded to the parked bus at 5th Avenue near Watrous Street. Members on scene at the bus communicated a description of the suspect to waiting officers who surrounded the area and within five minutes, officers arrested the suspect.

Police identified the suspect as 50 year-old Robin FLEURY of Prince George. Members transported the suspect to the RCMP Detachment where he remained until his first court appearance.

The B.C. Prosecution Service has approved charges of Assault with a weapon, Aggravated assault, Possession of a weapon and Obstructing a police officer.

Emergency Health Services transported the victim to hospital with serious injuries to his leg.

This file remains under investigation.
