Two people arrested in downtown PG hotel…
PRINCE GEORGE, BC: On the morning of Wednesday, January 13, 2021, members of the Prince George RCMP’s Downtown Safety Unit received information that guests staying at the Ramada Plaza Hotel at 444 George Street were in violation of the province’s current Protective Measures Order.
Information provided to police enabled them to perform a check for compliancy under the Protective Measures Order. While searching the room for occupants, members of the Downtown Safety Unit observed a prohibited magazine in plain sight.
Police immediately arrested the occupants in the room for Possession of Prohibited Device and a search of the room for further prohibited items commenced.
“The search yielded large amounts of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, crack cocaine and numerous prescription pills. Police also found multiple firearms hidden throughout the room,” states Prince George RCMP Spokesperson, Cst. Jennifer Cooper.
Police located various stolen items such as laptops, industrial tools and other electronic devices.
The two individuals arrested at the outset were released pending further investigation and results from analysis of the seized firearms.
This investigation is still ongoing.
