Firearms targeted in Break and Enter in Miworth…

PRINCE GEORGE, BC: Shortly after 6:00 PM on December 14, 2020, the Prince George RCMP was notified of a residential break and enter to a home in Miworth…

Police say sometime during the day, one or more suspects entered the home and pried open a gun safe. The suspect(s) took five handguns and the matching magazines from inside the safe.

Investigators believe that the suspect(s) targeted the residence and the safe in order to steal the firearms.

“Guns were clearly targeted in this break-and- enter,” says Cst. Jennifer Cooper, spokesperson for the Prince George RCMP. “Every gun owner should take all precautions to secure their firearms and should refrain from discussing locations and details of their guns with others.”

One of the firearms was located on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 by a member of the public, hidden in some garbage in an alleyway. This may have been an attempt to hide the firearm for future use.

If you have any information about this targeted Criminal offence, please contact the Prince George RCMP at (250)561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1(800)222-8477
