Suspects identified in connection with arson on Morice Forest Service Road…

HOUSTON, BC: The Houston RCMP has identified two suspects in connection with an arson on the Morice Forest Service road..

Police say the fire occurred sometime overnight between Friday August 14, 2020 and Saturday, August 15, 2020.

The fire was originally reported to the BC RCMP Community –Industry Response Group (CIRG) Quick Response Team (QRT) members who had been working in the Houston area and attended the scene. Upon arrival, the CIRG QRT secured the scene and conducted a preliminary sweep of the area and determined there were no persons present in need of assistance. The area appeared to have been unoccupied at the time of the fire and no one was located at the scene. The Forensic Identification Section was also called to the scene to process any evidence gathered in the area.

Through the course of the investigation, evidence of take auto without owners’ consent was discovered. The investigation is ongoing and will be forwarded to the BC Prosecution Services for review of potential charges. The suspects, a 24-year-old male and 19-year old male are Burns Lake residents and were employed in the Houston area”
