Police have released details about the incident…
Just after 4:00 AM on Sunday April 12, 2020, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a commercial alarm at a business on the 1400 block of 3rd Avenue in Prince George.
Frontline officers attended the scene within seconds. An adult male suspect attempted to flee on foot, but ran back into the business.
Due to safety concerns for our officers, the North District RCMP’s Emergency Response Team was called in to assist.
At approximately 7:30 AM, a 42 year-old Prince George man was arrested with the assistance of a Police Dog Service Team. He was transported to hospital for treatment of minor wounds and has been transported back to the Detachment. He will be held in custody overnight and will appear in court by teleconferencing on Monday April 13, 2020.
As of 8:20 am, RCMP from the North District and Prince George RCMP have left the scene. One RCMP member was remaining on scene. When we arrived to the scene, an audible alarm was coming from a business on 3rd Ave. No further details.

The Prince George RCMP with the assistance of the North District RCMP’s Emergency Response Team are currently on-scene following a reported commercial break & enter on 3rd Avenue in Downtown Prince George.
Portions of 3rd Avenue, 4th Avenue and Brunswick Street are closed to public.
Police are asking the public to avoid this area.
