Teens crash stolen vehicle into tree at local park…

PRINCE GEORGE, BC: Two Prince George teens have a court date after crashing a stolen car into a tree in Bryant Park on Wednesday afternoon… 

Police say at approximately 2:40 PM, officers received a report of a vehicle that collided with a tree in Gordon Bryant Park, off 1stAvenue and Tabor Blvd. in Prince George. 

The park is off limits to vehicles and initial indications were that three youth males fled from the vehicle after the collision.

Officers and other emergency services attended the scene and located a newer model Ford Escape with significant damage. Officers confirmed that the vehicle had been stolen from Sycamore Crescent sometime overnight.

Initial efforts to locate the suspects were negative. Police had brought in a Police Service Dog to track the suspects but came up empty. 

Through further investigation, a 16 year-old male and a 15 year-old male believed to be involved in this incident were located and arrested. Both were suffering from non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash. 

The youth were released on a Promise to Appear with Undertaking for court on Wednesday December 20th, 2017.

The investigation is continuing.
