DAWSON CREEK, BC: A dog has been reunited with its family after it was handed over to people who claimed the dog belonged to them…
Police say on Saturday October 21, 2017, the Dawson Creek RCMP received a report of a possible recovered stolen dog.
It was reported that a small breed dog had gone missing approximately a month prior and the owner saw a Facebook post the previous evening of a dog he believed to be his.
Unfortunately prior to the owner’s response to the Facebook post, the dog had been picked up by persons stating it was their dog. Dawson Creek RCMP officers attended the residence of the persons who had picked up the dog and questioned them on their ownership of the animal.
After a short period of time it was
determined that the dog did not belong to the persons who claimed it to be their own and therefore officers seized the animal.
The dog was then brought to its rightful owner’s residence where it was reunited with its family.
