PRINCE GEORGE, BC: The Prince George RCMP’s Street Crew Unit have one man in custody and seized a significant quantity of illicit drugs & cash in relation to an on-going drug trafficking investigation…
On Wednesday October 11th, 2017, the Street Crew Unit arrested a 37 year-old Prince George man in a parking lot on Ospika Boulevard in Prince George. The suspect was in possession of heroin, cocaine and a small amount of cash. His vehicle was seized as part of the investigation.
Evidence obtained, led officers to acquire and execute a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on the 1600 block of Harper Drive where large amounts of methamphetamine, cocaine, MDMA (ecstasy), and cash was seized.
The investigation led officers to acquire a second Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant for a residence on Mullet Crescent in Prince George. Upon execution of that warrant, officers located large quantities of heroin and cocaine, along with a smaller amount of cash. A loaded shotgun was also seized.
In all, over 500 grams of methamphetamine, more than 200 grams of cocaine, approximately 400 grams of heroin and nearly 250 grams of what is believed to be MDMA (ecstasy), was seized during this investigation. The estimated street value of these drugs is in excess of $200,000. Officers have also seized a large amount of cash and a vehicle.
“This is exceptional work by our Street Crew Unit to, yet again, rid this community of a significant amount of drugs and a firearm” says Inspector Shaun Wright, Operations Officer for the Prince George RCMP. “We are committed to continued enforcement efforts directed at individuals involved in gang activity and the drug trade, in order to keep our community safe.”
The suspect was released on a Promise to Appear for court on February 14th, 2018. His name will be released once changes are approved by Federal Crown Counsel.
