The Quesnel RCMP seized two loaded handguns and drugs in separate incidents.
On Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 8:15 p.m., a Quesnel RCMP officer on pro-active patrol conducted a traffic stop near the Anderson Drive soccer fields. The officer arrested the driver, a 21-year-old Quesnel woman for impaired operation and drug possession. Police seized a small amount of various drugs, cash and a loaded pistol in the vehicle. The woman has been released pending further investigation. The results of the investigation will be sent to the BC Prosecution Service for assessment of appropriate charges.
On Monday, September 28, 2026, at 10:07 a.m., officers responding to a suspicious vehicle report arrested a 37-year-old Quesnel man after spotting a handgun inside his vehicle. Police officers seized a loaded pistol with an over-capacity magazine as well as various drugs. Jade Bennett has been charged with six firearms related offences and has been remanded in custody pending court.
