Police are seeking witnesses, CCTV or dash camera footage after a vehicle allegedly fled from police on Friday afternoon.
On April 10, 2026, at 2:21 p.m., the Fort St. James RCMP received a report of threats at a residence on Kenner Road. The suspect was determined to be associated with a green Ford pickup, which was located by police traveling northbound on Highway 27. A vehicle stop was attempted; however, the vehicle allegedly fled and police pursued briefly before disengaging. While investigators attended the residence to advance their investigation, police received additional information that the suspect vehicle had crashed on a forest service road and that a man was seen walking in the area with a firearm.
Due to the perceived risk to the public and police, the North District Emergency Response Team was engaged and made contact with the man, taking him into custody safety and without incident. Although uninjured, the man was taken to hospital for any treatment he might require.
The investigation remains ongoing and no charges have been laid at this time.
โWe continue to look for witnesses, specifically with respect to the driving behaviours of the suspect,โ said Staff Sergeant Kris Clark of the BCย RCMP. โIf you saw the vehicle or have video of it driving anytime Friday afternoon, please call police.โ
The green Ford F250 was bearing a BC licence plate, number KX0684, and wouldโve travelled from where it allegedly fled police on Highway 27 to where it came to rest at approximately the 55 km mark of North Road.
Anyone who has any information, CCTV or dash camera video is asked to contact the Fort St. James RCMP at 250-996-8269.
