The Fort St. John RCMP, along with the Fort St. John Fire Department, are investigating several recreational property fires that have occurred over the past few months within the community…
Police say, between February 22, 2025 and April 27, 2025, eight fires have been reported to officers. Evidence gathered up to this point suggests the fires were intentionally set and have occurred within in Fort St. John.
Of the eight fires reported, three were started in Kin Park, two fires set at the Surerus Ball Diamonds, while the remaining three fires were lit at various locations in the city.
While there have been no reported injuries, these types of incidents pose a significant risk to the public and a significant cost to the citizens of Fort St. John
said Sgt Dwayne Croll, Operations NCO, Fort St. John RCMP.

We also ask parents and guardians to speak with their children about the importance of fire safety. Keeping Fort St. John safe is a responsibility we all share
said Matt Troiano, Deputy Fire Chief.
The Fort St John RCMP are seeking witnesses to come forward with any information regarding these fires targeting recreational areas.
