One person is dead and another injured following two separate shots fired incidents in Dawson Creek over the weekend…

Police say shortly after 11 pm on January 19, 2025, officers responded to a report of shots fired on 102nd Ave. Upon arrival to the scene, one man was located deceased.

Not long after, officers responded to a second shots fired incident at a nearby hotel. There, another person was shot and located with non-life threatening injuries and taken to hospital.

Police have identified several persons of interest in connection with both investigations. BC RCMP North District Major Crime Unit (NDMCU) has conduct of the investigation.

No charges have been laid to date and the investigation is ongoing.

While police believe these to be targeted events, we wish to remind the public to be diligent and that they can expect to see an increased police presence in the community as efforts continue to ensure safety in the community of Dawson Creek.
