One person has died following a single vehicle crash on Highway 16 East at Old Cariboo Highway…

Police say the crash occurred last Thursday evening (Nov 7), when the driver of a Pontiac Vibe lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway. The crash killed the passenger in the vehicle, while the driver was not injured.

“Unfortunately, the single passenger in the vehicle did not survive the incident. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

Officers arrested the male driver of the vehicle for impaired driving and he was issued a future court date.

Investigators are looking for further witnesses to the incident, or for anyone who may have caught the vehicle’s driving behaviour preceding the incident on their dash camera or video surveillance.
