Police say on December 9, 2023 at approximately 12:30 pm, officers responded to a shooting inside a home on the 400 block of Cinnamon Street, in Bear Lake. Upon arrival, officers located a man suffering from a serious gunshot wound. The man was taken to hospital for treatment.
Later that Saturday evening, officers identified a suspect. Michael Dillon Solmundson, 31, of Prince George, was arrested and held for court.
The following charges have been approved against Solmundson:
- Discharging a firearm with intent
- Aggravated assault
- Use of a firearm during the commission of an offence
Police believe this to be a targeted event and there is no risk to the public.
