DAWSON CREEK, BC: One man has been arrested and three other people remain on the loose following a targeted shooting and pursuit Saturday afternoon in Dawson Creek…
Police say on July 16th, 2022 at approximately 2:00 PM, officers attended a priority call of shots fired from a vehicle at a residence in the area of 118th Avenue and 12th Street.
Officers were informed while enroute that four people occupied the vehicle but when members caught up to the vehicle, only the driver remained inside. The driver immediately fled the scene with police following behind in pursuit.
The male driver continued to evade police but came to an abrupt stop after immobilizing the vehicle over train tracks at 15th Street and Alaska Avenue. The driver then began a foot pursuit with officers from both the BC Highway Patrol, DC RCMP and from canine units.
The driver was eventually found by canine units and arrested by officers. The man faces new charges as well as outstanding warrant charges for his arrest.
The Dawson Creek RCMP is requesting that anyone with surveillance or dash camera footage that may have captured the initial shooting in the area of 118th Avenue and 12th Street or the pursuit to contact police.
