Police say on March 25, 2021 at approximately 4 PM, officers were dispatched to Dave’s No Frills grocery store located on Alaska Avenue for a report of a disturbance.

Investigation has determined that a group of individuals entered the grocery store without face masks as per the current Provincial Health Order and created a disturbance for which they were asked to leave by multiple employees.

An employee followed the group to the parking lot to collect license plates for a subsequent report to police. An altercation occurred and a staff member was punched by a man in the group.

Police were called which resulted in the arrest of one male. The victim received relatively minor injuries which did not require medical treatment.

Kevin JOHNSTON, 49, has been charged with one count of Assault.

The video shows Mr. Johnston refusing to cooperate with RCMP in Dawson Creek.

He was released by a Judge on March 26 with a variety of conditions.
