Eight people arrested during Criminal Code Search Warrant in Prince George…

PRINCE GEORGE, BC: During the early morning hours of Wednesday September 23, 2020, the Prince George RCMP with assistance from the North District RCMP’s Emergency Response Team, executed a Criminal Code search warrant at an address on the 400-block of South Lyon Street in Prince George.

Eight adults were arrested in the residence. A search was conducted and two loaded firearms along with ammunition and a ‘stun’ gun were located and seized.

A 21 year-old male and a 28 year-old male were held in custody and will be attending court later today, pending charge assessment from the BC Prosecution Service. Both are well known to police and have a history of violence. Six others were released pending further investigation and charge assessment from the BC Prosecution Service.

The action taken by police was a direct result of the on-going investigation into the increased violence involving firearms in our community. Due to the extreme high risk to safety, police utilized special tactics to secure the residence and arrest all occupants.

The investigation is continuing and further police action is likely.
