QUESNEL, BC: On September 6, 2018 at 4:30 AM, Quesnel RCMP received calls of gun shots heard in the 900 block of Abbott Drive in Quesnel…

Police responded and located evidence of a shooting in the area.

Shortly thereafter, patrolling police officers located a vehicle believed to be involved in the incident, parked in the 500 block of Doherty Drive. Enquiries at a neighbouring apartment building located two men suffering from gun shot wounds. Both men were transported to hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The North District Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services from Prince George as well as a Forensic Identification Team from Williams Lake have all attended to provide assistance to the Quesnel Detachment. The general public is not believed to be at risk at this time.

This investigation is in its early stages and remains active. Police ask anyone who may have witnessed this incident or anything suspicious on the West Side of Quesnel between 4:15 AM to 4:45 AM to call the Quesnel RCMP with their information at (250) 992-9211 or BC Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
