VANDERHOOF, BC: Two people are in hospital following a vehicle/pedestrian collision in Vanderhoof Tuesday evening…

Police say just after 7 PM, officers were called to a report of two pedestrians who were struck by a vehicle on Kenny Dam Road. A male and female were walking across the road to speak with occupants of another vehicle parked in the middle of the road when the two were struck by an oncoming vehicle.

Both pedestrians were under the influence of alcohol and dressed in dark clothing. The driver of the vehicle did not see the pedestrians as visibility was obstructed from the headlights of the parked car.

The pedestrians sustained injuries to their lower extremities but are not considered life threatening.

The investigation is ongoing.
