UPDATE – Police have identified the human remains located inside a burnt out vehicle near Dawson Creek in mid October.
Jesse Twain, 29 years old from Edmonton Alberta, has been identified as the victim found in the burnt vehicle on October 13, 2025.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are looking to the public to help further the investigation. If you have any information on Jesse Twain and the events leading up to and including his death, you are asked to call the dedicated information line 1-877-987-8477.

North District RCMP is asking for the public’s help in identifying a vehicle that is involved in a homicide investigation out of Dawson Creek…
Police say on October 13, 2025, Dawson Creek officers responded to a report of a burnt out vehicle near the 251 Road and Kiskatinaw River, just north of Dawson Creek. When officers arrived, they found a burnt out grey ’05 Mazda 6. Human remains were also located inside the vehicle.
βAll indications suggest that this is a homicide. We are looking to speak to anyone that may have knowledge of this incident,β says Supt Wijayakoon of the BC RCMP.
