One person has died following a two vehicle crash on the Alaska Highway (AH) north of Fort St. John Monday afternoon…

Police say on August 11, 2025 at 1:42 PM, officers received a report of a collision on the Alaska Highway at the 269 Rd.

Fort St. John RCMP, BC Ambulance Service and Charlie Lake and Fort St. John Fire Services all attended the scene.

Investigation has revealed that a southbound SUV failed to stop for a red light and collided with the tanker truck while the tanker truck was turning left onto the Alaska Highway from 269 Rd.

The driver of the SUV was declared deceased on scene.

The Alaska Highway was closed while the RCMP Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Services conducted their examination and has since reopened.
