A vehicle collision earlier this morning north of Fort St. John sent three people to hospital…

Police say, the crash occurred just before 8 am and involved four vehicles on the Alaska Highway near the Shepherd’s Inn.

Investigation has revealed that a southbound vehicle was stopped while attempting to make a left-hand turn off the Alaska Highway and was subsequently struck from behind by another vehicle, which blocked the highway. Two other vehicles, one headed north and the other headed south, avoided the collision by entering the ditch.

Three individuals were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Alaska Highway was down to one lane with alternating traffic until the vehicles were cleared.
