The PG RCMP is asking for the public’s help following a car-jacking on Christmas night…
Police say the incident began just after 11 pm, when a passenger in a taxi pulled out a knife and demanded the driver of the taxi take them out of province.
The driver of the taxi stopped in front of the Prince George Airport and got out, police say. The suspect also got out and jumped into the drivers seat and fled the area.
Thankfully, the driver of the taxi was unharmed in the incident,
states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
The taxi was located crashed into the ditch a short time later. The suspect had fled the area after the crash.
Investigators are looking to speak with any witnesses to the incident or to anyone that may have dash camera footage of the orange taxi arriving or leaving the airport.
