Three suspects were arrested Monday (Dec 16) night following a robbery and vehicle crash in Prince George…
Police say, the incident began just after 8:30 pm, when a call came in of a robbery at a gas station in Beaverley, west of Prince George along Highway 16. The lone gas station attendant stated two people came in to the store, demanding money and cigarettes. The two suspects then fled in a waiting red pickup truck.
As officers were responding to the incident in Beaverley, they observed the red pickup truck heading eastbound into Prince George along Highway 16 at Peden Hill. Responding officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, however, the suspect driver fled at a high-rate of speed and continued on along Highway 16.
The suspects continued to flee and had merged onto Highway 97, continuing northbound where they subsequently crashed into another pickup truck at the intersection of Highway 97 and 10th Ave, in Prince George. Following the crash, three suspects fled in separate directions but caught quickly by police. All three suspects were transported to the Prince George Detachment and have been released on Undertakings with future court dates.
The people involved in the collision at 10th and Highway 97 were taken to UHNBC for treatment of minor injuries. The gas station attendant was not injured and the red pickup truck was determined to have been stolen from Fort St. James earlier that day.
This is another example of the great police work being done in Prince George, to have all suspects arrested within 25 minutes of the report being made, despite them fleeing from police and traveling halfway across the City,
states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
Investigation continues.
