A vehicle crash north of Fort St. John Monday evening has claimed the life of one driver…

Police say just after 5:30 pm on November 25, 2024, officers and emergency crews responded to a two vehicle head-on crash on the Alaska Highway near the Shepherds Inn, approximately 40 km north of Fort St. John.

Upon arrival, one driver was declared deceased on scene and the second driver was taken to the Fort St. John Hospital for treatment of injuries.

Police have ruled out alcohol and road conditions as a contributing factor in the crash.

The highway was closed for several hours while the North District RCMP Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit attended to assist with the investigation. It reopened just before 3 am MST.
