Police say the crash occurred just before 5pm, when a pickup truck and a minivan collided head-on Highway 97 north of Hixon near Colebank Rd E.
“There was a single occupant in the pickup truck and a family of five, including four children between the ages of five and twelve, in the minivan. All of those involved were taken to the hospital by Emergency Health Services with injuries ranging from moderate to severe,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
Highway 97 was closed for several hours Wednesday night while RCMP gathered information from the scene. It reopened to full traffic just before midnight.
Investigation continues.
