The North District RCMP has made an arrest in connection to a year-old homicide out of Smithers…
Police arrested Sylvester Gordon Joseph in Kelowna earlier today (Sept 6) after a warrant went out for his arrest. Sylvester has been charged with Second Degree Murder by BC Prosecution.
Back on September 8, 2023, RCMP in Smithers responded to a report of a man who was shot in a vehicle outside a home in the community. The victim in this incident was located at the hospital by Police where he later died from injuries sustained in the shooting.
The North District RCMP Major Crime Unit along with members of the Smithers RCMP worked diligently in gathering all evidence and obtaining charge approval in this matter
says Staff Sergeant Kris Clark, spokesperson for the BC RCMP. Mr. Joseph was arrested without incident in Kelowna, BC on September 6, 2024.
