A WestJet flight out of Terrace early Monday afternoon had to turn back following an unruly passenger…
Police say the incident began after the plane took off from the regional airport in Terrace. A man on-board the plane was disruptive and failed to remain in his seat during take-off. The man showed signs of paranoia, and was attempting to open the emergency exits on the plane.
Passengers stepped in and assisted by restraining the man until the plane was back on the ground. Once landed, officers were waiting on the tarmac and boarded. The man was arrested under the Mental Health Act. He admitted to taking an illegal substance prior to departure and was therefore taken to hospital for assessment.
