One man was arrested following a police incident in Fort St. John Sunday morning on 85th Street…

Police say just after *5 am, officers responded to a report of a domestic incident between two people, a man and a woman, and that the man was allegedly suicidal with a loaded firearm inside the home.

Upon arrival and learning a firearm could be involved, RCMP set up containment around the home and evacuated two people from inside. The two people evacuated confirmed to officers that they heard arguing inside the home.

The suspect had refused to come out of the home and therefore the North District RCMP from Prince George was called in to assist. After the arrival of North District, negotiations continued but failed resulting in the ERT deploying a chemical irritant inside the home. The suspect was taken into custody and was not hurt during the incident.

The suspect was later released with court documents to appear at a later date. The male suspect could face multiple charges from this incident.
