Prince George Fire/Rescue had a busy Tuesday morning following two structure fires…
The first fire occurred at approximately 4.00 AM on the 1300 block of 5th Ave in the downtown. Upon arrival, crews were met with smoke and flame coming from an alleyway behind a multi-commercial unit.
Fire crews were on scene fighting the blaze for 4 hours and contained the fire to the unit of origin. No one was in the building at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
Damage is pegged at $150,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
A second structure fire broke out near Westwood Drive, on the 100 block of Fern Crescent just after 9:30 AM.
Fire crews from three halls responded and they reported heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof on the back side of a home. Crews were able to quickly contain the fire in the attic space.

Fire damage is estimated at $100,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
There were no injuries to either firefighters or bystanders.
