Police in Chetwynd are looking to speak to any witnesses following a fatal head-on crash late Saturday night…
Police say on April 7, 2024, just after midnight, officers responded to the collision on top of Wabi Hill, on Highway 97. Upon arrival to the scene, officers learned that a 2001 black Dodge Ram pickup truck and a 2011 Ford F350 collided head-on. The two occupants in the Dodge, a 19 year-old male driver and a 15 year-old male passenger were pronounced deceased. The driver and lone occupant of the F350, a 21 year-old male, was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.
Police are continuing to investigate how the crash occurred and are asking any witnesses to come forward. If you witnessed the crash or the vehicles prior to the crash, contact the RCMP in Chetwynd at 250-788-9221.
Highway 97 was closed for several hours and has since reopened.
