A known man to the local RCMP was arrested Sunday evening following a single vehicle crash on the S curve of Peden Hill…
Police say just after 7 pm on March 10, officers responded to a single vehicle rollover crash on Peden Hill not far from Davis Rd in the eastbound lane on the S curve. Witnesses say after the vehicle crashed and rolled, the driver, 29 year-old Dezmon Owens, walked away from the vehicle with what appeared to be a firearm in his possession.

Officers immediately attended the crash scene and shut down Peden Hill to all traffic during the investigation. Dezmon Owens was arrested a short distance away and taken to the PG RCMP Detachment and held for court.
Owens will be facing the following charges in court:
- Operate conveyance while prohibited
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
- Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to order
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Fail to comply with probation x3
- Fail to comply with undertaking
Owens will remain in custody until his next court appearance. There were no injuries reported in the incident.
Highway 16 was closed and slow going for over two hours.
