Police say on February 21, 2024 at 6:14 PM, Chetwynd officers were called to a home on Wabi Crescent in Chetwynd after a report came in that a man was destroying property within the home.
When officers arrived on scene, the male suspect said he had a firearm and threatened to use the firearm. All attempts to have the suspect exit the home by frontline officers were unsuccessful and the North District ERT was called in to assist.
The ERT arrived and was able to remove the suspect from the home without further incident. The male suspect was not injured and remains in police custody.
Charges are possible in this case. Investigation continues.
