A break and enter suspect who broke into several homes in the North Nechako area on Sunday has been issued a court date…
Police say a series of incidents began just after 2 am on February 18, 2024, when a homeowner on the 5100 block of North Nechako Rd reported that a rock had been thrown through a window and they could hear a man talking outside. While responding to that report, another call came in from the 3200 block of Riverview Rd saying an unknown man had walked into a home asking the homeowner to call 9-1-1 and the male suspect left shortly thereafter.

A bit later, a third call came in from a homeowner on the 3300 block of Rosia Road after they heard someone attempt to gain entry through the front door of the home. The report did not state if the suspect gained entry to this home.
Three and a half hours later, at 5:30 AM, the suspect was finally located, sleeping, on a couch at a home located in the 3500 block of Rosia Road. The media release doesn’t say if the male suspect gained entry to the residence or where the couch was located at that particular home.
The suspect was arrested and taken to the Prince George RCMP Detachment, and released back to the community with a future court date.
“Investigators are extending their thanks to the people who contacted police with information on the suspectβs whereabouts, several of whom could see him on their video surveillance passing through the area, as it assisted in ultimately tracking him down,
” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
The male suspect is known to the local RCMP.
