Two traffic stops on the same vehicle in Fort St. John Tuesday has landed a man a court date after being arrested on an outstanding warrant, breach and drug possession…
Police say on February 13, 2024, a Fort St. John officer conducted the first traffic stop on the vehicle with two people inside. The officer located and seized a small amount of pre-packaged cocaine and crack-cocaine found on the passenger. The drugs were seized and the traffic stop ended with no charges being pursued against the passenger.
After letting the vehicle go, RCMP were later notified that the driver and the passenger had a No Contact Order against each other. The driver also had a warrant for his arrest.
RCMP caught up with the same vehicle and again pulled it over. This time the driver of the vehicle was arrested on his outstanding warrant and for breaching contact conditions. While being searched in police custody, a small amount of suspected pre-packaged crack cocaine was located and seized. The driver was taken to the Fort St. John RCMP detachment and held for court.

Due to the possession of suspected drugs and the driverβs actions, the driver was put through a Standard Field Sobriety Test and performed poorly, police said in the media release. The driver received a 24-hour driving suspension and his vehicle was impounded.
The male driver was released by the courts on a Release Order to reattend court on February 26, 2024.
