An early morning fire has destroyed a small structure at the homeless encampment in Prince George…

Just before 5 am Thursday, PG Fire Rescue and other emergency crews responded to an outbuilding fire in the encampment in the lower Patricia Blvd area, just off 5th Ave.

Upon arrival of fire crews, it was noted that a “tiny home” structure recently built and donated by the community was on fire. Fire crews stayed on site for approximately an hour to extinguish the fire.

There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. Estimated damage is $2,500.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
